Custom Tote Bags

We have two different types of tote bag: flat folded or gusseted. The flat folded totes are simply made from a panel of printed fabric which is hemmed down the sides with handles attached. The gusseted is slightly different in that instead of the fabric just being folded in half, a 10cm gusset is sewn in at the bottom.

The standard printed panel sizes are 37.5x91cm for the flat folded totes and 49x93cm for the gusseted totes. For both types, this allows for a 1.5cm bleed/hemming allowance on the left, right edges and 2.5cm on the top and bottom edges.

This means that the resulting finished product sizes are approx. 34.5x43cm for flat folded and 46x41cm with a 10cm gusset for the gusseted totes. If you have a custom size tote bag in mind, please get in touch with a member of the team for a personalised quote.

The standard care label is sewn on the inside seam, and this is included in the unit price.

Standard care labels are offered free of charge, 100% cotton and Polyester products only, customer to supply care labels for all other fabrics

Branded labels can be sewn in at no extra cost. The labels will need to be made up elsewhere and sent to us as we do not produce them here. To save you paying for postage twice, you can ask the label company to send the labels directly to us. If you would like both the standard care label AND your own branded label, make sure to mention this to a member of the team when you are placing your order. We can sew your branded labels into any position you’d like.

A popular option is to have them sewn so they’re visible on the outside of the tote bag or having them sewn on the inside seam. If you’re having your own branded labels, when placing your order, please let a member of the team know where you’d like them to be sewn.

Our standard handles are 58cm long (28cm from bag to where you’d have it on your shoulder). You have three different options for the handles. Firstly, you can have them made from cotton webbing which comes in three colours: white, black or natural.

If you decide to go with this option, when placing your order, please let a member of the team know which colour you’d like. If you’re having a few different designs which you’d like to have different colours of webbing for, please make sure it is clear which colour goes which each design. The cost of this option is included in the unit price.

Your second option is to supply the cotton webbing yourself. If you decide to go for this option, please send us a small sample of the webbing you’d like to use so we can make sure we can use it. For own supplied webbing, you will need 1.4m per tote bag. If you want to supply your own webbing, we will knock 10p off the unit price.

The third option is to have printed straps. With this option, you can have any colour you’d like. Again, if you’re having a few different designs with a few different strap colours, when placing your order, make sure it’s clear which colour straps go with which design.

If you’d like printed straps, please supply us with the RGB values of the colours you’d like us to print or supply the piping as a finished file. The file sizes for these are stated below. The cost of having printed straps is an additional +£1 per unit.

When supplying artwork for a tote bag order, please send your files at 37.5x91cm for a flat folded tote bag or 49x92cm for a gusseted tote bag. Please keeping any text/design motifs that need to be visible at least 2cm away from the left, right edges and 5cm away from the top and bottom edges of the file, so they don’t get sewn into the hem. If you are having printed straps, please supply the files at 6.8x70cm for each strap. Please send the files as RGB JPEGs, PSDs, PDFs, or TIFFs at 254 dpi resolution or higher.
